We package all prints with archival safe materials. Prints 11"x14" and smaller are typically shipped flat inside a box and prints larger than 11" x 14" are typically shipped inside a tube. However, large quantity orders are typically shipped flat inside a box.
We ship most orders via USPS Priority Mail for delivery in 2-3 business days to most locations. We prefer to ship with USPS because packages are delivered Monday - Saturday. UPS and FedEx standard delivery is only Monday - Friday in most locations.
Orders are shipped from just outside the Austin city limits (that's Austin, TX).
Most orders placed before noon central time will be processed and shipped same day.
Some exclusions do apply.
- Items that require a spray coating (Wallpaper & Gallery Wraps) will take 1-2 business days to allow the coating to properly cure.
- Wallpaper orders generally take 2-3 business days after artwork approval.
- Large volume orders typically take 1-2 business days depending on order size.
We highly recommend creating all your artwork in the Adobe RGB1998 color space as it will provide outstanding results and maintain color consistency. We can print from most standard profiles, but you will certainly see the best output by maintaining Adobe RGB1998 throughout your workflow.
If you are not using Adobe RGB1998 (or you have no idea what it is) don't worry. We have profiled most of our papers to yield accurate output from sRGB, PROPhoto and many other color spaces.
We have a lot of info about our paper and canvas offerings on the website, but being able to see and touch the media options is the best way to make a selection. We offer sample packs at the link below so you can get a printed sample of our most popular offerings. The packs contain 15-20 of the paper and canvas options we keep in stock. The sample packs are available for just $1.99 to cover the cost of shipping.
Print borders are always “additive”, meaning the border will be in addition to your print size.
Let’s look at an example.
If you setup your print for 8” x 10” and add a 1-inch white border, the printed area will continue to be 8” x 10”, but the paper size will now be 10” x 12” as 1-inch is added to each side of the print (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).
In this example, if you would like the total paper size to remain 8” x 10”, including the border, there is a simple method to calculate the print size. Simply subtract 2 times the border size from the print size. You will multiply the border size by 2 because the border amount would be Left Side + Right Side border and Top + Bottom border.
Here is an example:
Take your 8” x 10” print and subtract your border size x 2.
(1-inch border) x (2) = 2
8-2 = 6
10-2 = 8
Enter your print size as 6” x 8”, now add 1-inch to the Left and Right, the new width is now 8-inches (6-inches + 1 + 1 = 8). Add 1-inch to the 8-inch Top and Bottom, the new height is 10-inches (8-inches + 1 + 1 = 10).
If you need help setting up your border please contact us and we’ll be glad to help.
Absolutely! Atom Prints can include your stickers, postcards, flyers or other marketing materials with your dropship orders at no additional charge.
How does the service work?
Just send us a 1-2 month supply (or 1 small box) of the items you would like included with each order and our team will add the items when your order is packaged. Please use the “Order Notes” section to let our team know what materials to include when you place each order. We can add your stickers to the package, include thank you postcards, add coupons inside the package, just let us know what you need!
Your promotional items can be shipped to the address found on the contact form. Please send a message via the contact form to let us know the items are on the way to our studio.
If your artwork or photo exceeds the 200MB upload limit there are two options to complete your order.
- If you have access to editing software, like Photoshop, we recommend creating a small version of your file (72 DPI is recommended) and use the reduced quality version of the file to place your order. Please make a note on the order page to let our team know you “Need to Upload the Full Resolution File”.
We also recommend typing “DO NOT PRINT” across the image if possible.
Our team will email a DropBox link where you can upload the full resolution file after your order is received.
- The second option is to create an account on our website, then use the contact form to email our team and let us know that you need to upload a large file. We can then email a DropBox link where you upload the large file. After your file is received, we can load the artwork or photograph directly into your Atom Prints account.
Please note, we highly recommend using option #1 if possible as this creates an order number at the beginning of the process and greatly reduces the possibility of an issue with your order.
Let us know if you need any assistance with the process and we will be glad to help.
Traditionally, printers would create an icc profile for each paper that artists could use to soft proof their artwork. We took a different approach at Atom Prints.
We create a custom profile for each paper based on standard color spaces, sRGB, Adobe RGB1998, Adobe PROPhoto, etc. Because our profiles are based on the standard color spaces, you never need a custom icc profile to soft proof your artwork at home.
If you make sure your artwork is created and viewed with a standard color space, you will have color accurate prints from Atom Prints.
It is necessary to make sure your monitor or screen is color accurate, able to display the full color space and has been recently profiled. We recommend using a colorimeter to property calibrate your monitor. If your monitor is not color accurate, viewing your artwork on that monitor would be like looking at a painting with tinted or colored lenses.
If you don’t have access to a properly calibrated monitor, we recommend viewing your artwork on an iPad, iPhone, or Macbook as these devices traditionally have reasonably color accurate screens.
IMPORTANT – Never change the color space that was used to create your artwork. If your art was created or scanned with sRGB, DO NOT apply another color space. Changing the color space will cause some degree of “color shift” and result in inaccurate prints.
Last, color accuracy is a very complex subject (more than we can cover in the FAQs). If you have questions or need help, please let us know. Our primary goal is to make sure you receive the finest color accurate prints.
